MOVEability
Burnside KinderGym are pleased to have a collaboration with MOVEability Physiotherapy for Kids, giving our families a fantastic opportunity to access clinical expertise and additional advice around your child’s gross motor development.
What does this mean?
Hayley Fisher, Physiotherapist and founder of MOVEability will be attending KinderGym sessions and will be available to answer questions and provide basic physiotherapy advice on gross motor development and to a lesser extent fine motor development relating to your child. Hayley will be able to observe your child within a KinderGym session and provide advice as appropriate, or alternatively Hayley may recommend that your child is booked into a formal assessment if the concerns are more significant or simply require more time.
Hayley brings over 12 years of paediatric physiotherapy experience and is passionate about working with children and their families. Hayley has worked with the whole paediatric age spectrum from 0-18 years, but has a special clinical interest working within early intervention particularly with children with cerebral palsy and general developmental delay.
Who is physiotherapy relevant for?
If your child presents with any of the following diagnoses or presentations, physiotherapy advice may be indicated:

-
Poor balance and frequently falling

Orthopaedic concerns such as flat feet or foot shape, leg shape or alignment that concerns you
-
Musculoskeletal pain
-
Low muscle tone (floppy muscles) or high muscle tone (stiff muscles)
-
Diagnosed physical disability such as but not limited to cerebral palsy and brain injury
-
Diagnosed genetic or chromosomal condition such as Down Syndrome
